Iztok Žagar, director
Iztok was educated in the USA and the UK. After completing studies in psychology, he gained work experience with a variety of companies before moving into translation. In 1991 he founded Amidas with Dejan Šušnik. As the director of the company he is responsible for business matters and the company's vision. He is always looking impatiently ahead! He was part of the group that founded the European Language Industry Association (ELIA).

 

 

 

Dejan Šušnik, executive director
Dejan is one of the two owners and co-founders of the company. Having lived for many years in the UK and the USA, he still counts and often thinks in English. He looks after Amidas's wide network of translators and editors, and is always on the lookout for the best new talent.

  

 

 

Mateja HoÄŤevar, accountant and business secretary
Mateja has been with Amidas since the very beginning and began her career with us. She keeps a watchful eye on the accounts and is at the same time a friendly first contact when you phone us or drop into the office. A devoted mother, she is full of energy and even finds time to run a children's choir.

 

 

 

Katka Imperl, project manager
Katka spent her teenage years in America, where she graduated from high school in Oregon. Her vivacious character and curiosity have contributed to her extensive knowledge of computing, and she is proficient in a wide range of application software. The clients she looks after with great reliability tend to be from the IT sphere. Thoughtful, an animal lover and a good storyteller, she is also the undisputed Amidas bowling champion...

 

 

 

Nina Šušnik, project manager
Nina says that she simply couldn't imagine doing anything else. A member of the Amidas team since 1999, she manages a wide variety of projects, mostly from the pharmaceuticals, automotive, technology and engineering fields. She likes people and good books. With her bright Liza Minnelli smile, she cheers up even the grumpiest…

 

Mojca Orel, project manager
Mojca is a qualified schoolteacher. With her warm manner and methodical approach, she is extremely efficient in her work. She is the member of the team who keeps us all going and is also Amidas's best and most indefatigable dancer.

 


Ana Vidmar, Project Manager
Ana is a prizewinning graduate of English and Italian translation studies. She is meticulous, reliable and friendly, working chiefly with clients from the fields of finance and law, as well as with the majority of the company’s German clients. She reads voraciously and enjoys sport and the great outdoors.

 
 
Simona Vrhovec, Project Manager
The latest addition to the Amidas line-up, Simona says she loves working here not only because she is part of a great team, but because that team socialises together as well. Simona is a graduate of administrative organisation, is lively and full of energy, and is mainly involved in dealing with clients from the fields of art and tourism. She teaches dance, and enjoys travelling and learning new languages.

 

 

Sebastijan Pilko, technical support
As a translator and computer enthusiast, Sebastijan is an expert in the full range of translation tools and support technology. He is an enormous help to our translators, project managers and other staff. He is also responsible for building and maintaining our extensive collection of translation memories and terminology databases.

 

 

 

Luka Lancner, technical support
Luka has a degree in translating and interpreting. At Amidas he helps manage translation memories. A keen basketball player and footballer, he is, in short, a sports enthusiast.
